TWO-DAY MASTERCLASS with Kseniya Polyakova

€495.00

Dates : 06-07 June 2026

I’m pleased to welcome ceramic artist Kseniya Polyakova from Polenovo for an intensive workshop focused on advanced wheel-throwing, scale, and structural form.

Kseniya is internationally known for her exceptional mastery of the pottery wheel and her ability to throw large, complex forms using her own highly developed techniques. With a background in architecture and design, her work explores balance, proportion, and strength, pushing the physical and technical limits of clay on the wheel. This workshop offers a rare opportunity to observe and practice her approach in depth.

Key learning objectives

  • Deepen technical understanding of wheel-throwing, with a focus on large and demanding forms

  • Explore centering, lifting, and shaping techniques for working confidently with substantial amounts of clay

  • Develop awareness of structure, proportion, and stability during the throwing process

What to expect

During the workshop, participants will:

  • Practice throwing exercises based on Kseniya’s methods for building tall and complex forms on the wheel

  • Work with clay as a study material, focusing on process, repetition, and technical development

  • Receive direct feedback and guidance from Kseniya throughout the sessions

Please note: the pieces made during this workshop are intended purely as practice pieces. There will be no glazing or firing, and works will not be kept. The emphasis is entirely on learning, experimentation, and refining technique rather than producing finished objects.

This workshop is designed for makers who want to challenge themselves, slow down, and deepen their relationship with the wheel through focused, hands-on practice. All materials and tools are provided.

Limited places ( max. 8 persons) for experienced ceramists only. The course will be given in English.
